Glass Lessons |
| Classes
for Stained Glass using the Tiffany Foiling method will be held
during the morning, afternoon or evenings. The course will consist
of one three hour lesson per week for seven weeks. During the course
you will make a lampshade in your choice of pattern and glass. On
completion of this course you will be able to apply your knowledge
to other items such as windows, suncatchers etc. We do offer
advanced lessons for more challenging projects.

| Leadlite
Lessons |
| Learn
the traditional art of Stained Glass windows. Express your talent
and creativity. This is a half-day course offered to students with a
basic knowledge of stained glass. You will complete a Leadlite
window in the class.
Cost:
The cost of the
course includes your glass and lead came for your project, as well
as a lead dyke and lead vice.

| Mosaics
and Stepping Stones |
| Mosaics
have been used as a decorative art form since ancient times. They
are extremely durable and it is rewarding to create beautiful items
for your home. Using moulds, you can create stones, walkways, pond
borders and benches. Using the direct applied method, you can
decorate flower pots, picture frames and many more items. Using the
newest fast-setting concrete, these projects are not time consuming
and are instantly gratifying. Cost:
The cost of the
course excludes glass, includes concrete mix.

| Hot
Glass and Creative Kilnwork |
The
course is a full-day course - usually on Mondays. During the course
we will teach you:
- To create a fused glass dish or platter. This may be slumped into
a shape of
your choice. Fusing is the bonding of glass at high
temperatures.
- The art of kiln-carving glass.
Cost:
We provide the glass
cutting tools and the kiln for use during the course or you may
bring your own tools along. The cost of the course includes firing
of your projects, technical information and lots of fun. All
glass and fibre paper used for your projects is an additional cost,
depending on your choice of glass, colour and size. On
completion of the course you may either rent space in our kilns to
fire your projects or we can provide you with the BEST
prices for kilns.

| The
Art of Enamel Painting on Glass |
| The
course will consist of either a morning or evening class. You may
choose from 64 jewel-like colours. Some are translucent, transparent
and opaque. Some light will pass through colour. Thus, your glass
really looks like glass! The transparents give the appearance of
coloured glass, keeping all of the sparkling qualities. There are
also 4 Matte colours and 2 outline colours. These colours are
permanent and do not fade.
GET CREATIVE AND
HAVE FUN! Cost:
The cost of the
course includes firing of your projects. All paints used are an
additional cost, depending on your choice of colours. Further
projects can be fired in our kilns.

| Beadmaking |
| Learn
bead-making theory and techniques, with ample time to practice your
new skills.
Course overview:
Starting with general safety, setting up, type of glass to buy, and
the torch to use, this course guides you through all the basic steps
of setting up to make glass beads. You'll learn to wind simple round
beads and form them into cylinders, bicones, disks and other shapes.
Once you've mastered these basics, then the real
fun begins!
Discover how to apply
surface decorations such as dots, stripes and spiral trails. Then
pinch, rake and poke your beads to make floral motifs and intricate
feathered patterns. Add colourful powders or bits of metal leaf to
create mysterious effects.

De Verre |
| Pate
De Verre is the french term for paste of glass. The Egyptians used
this method to produce solid glass objects, with rich translucent
qualities to make a range of objects from solid sculptures to hollow
vessels.
Learn how to make a
glass box, from making a mold, charging a mold, firing and releasing
the glass object from the mold. This ancient art of glassmaking is
both exciting and creative!
